Everything you need to get started.

Set up your library, learn the basics, keep the best shortcuts close, and catch up on what changed.

1

Choose your music folder

On first launch, select the folder that holds your music. MusicPlayer keeps access to that folder so it can reopen it later.

2

Let the library import finish

The app scans supported files, reads metadata, and builds the local library view around your existing collection.

3

Browse or search

Move through tracks, albums, artists, playlists, and recently played, or search by title, artist, or album.

4

Play from anywhere

Start playback from the current view, then use queue preview, media keys, the menu bar, or the mini player to stay close to it.

What file types are supported?

MusicPlayer supports MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, AIFF, and FLAC files.

Does the app move or edit my files?

No. Your original files stay where they are. MusicPlayer reads and organizes them locally.

Can I use playlists and playlist folders?

Yes. You can create playlists, organize them into folders, and build playback around them.

Does it work with larger libraries?

That is the goal. The app is built around fast search, clear browsing, and local playback.

Can I control playback from the keyboard?

Yes. The app supports media keys and includes dedicated keyboard shortcuts for playback and library actions.
